The case, filed by the Federal Government, was scheduled to commence on Thursday but could not proceed due to her absence in court.

Defence counsel, Temiloluwa Akindayini, informed the court that the actress recently underwent surgery on April 21 and is currently recuperating in Abia State.

He added that an affidavit detailing her medical condition had already been filed.

Prosecuting counsel, Tolulope Mokuola, opposed the explanation and applied for a bench warrant, arguing that the defendant failed to honour official notices.

The prosecution also questioned the credibility of the medical report, noting it was not issued by a government hospital.

Justice Akintayo Aluko, however, declined the application for a warrant, describing the situation as one that deserved caution.

The judge noted procedural lapses by the defence in failing to properly notify the prosecution.

In a decisive ruling, the court ordered the defendant to present a verifiable medical report from a public hospital and ensure it is duly served.

The judge also directed that she must appear physically at the next hearing.

The charges against Ogala include alleged publication of personal materials without consent, dissemination of false information, cyberbullying, and attempted extortion.

The matter was adjourned to June 9, 2026, for arraignment.
