Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ogulu, has become the first African artist to secure Grammy nominations in six consecutive years.

Known as the ‘African Giant’, Burna Boy has been a Grammy contender every year since 2018, amassing a total of 11 nominations to date, with one win so far.

This year, Burna Boy’s song *Higher* is nominated for Best African Music Performance, adding to his impressive string of honours.

This recognition underscores his influential role in bringing African music to a global audience and the growing presence of Afrobeats and African sounds in the mainstream music scene.

Adding to the achievements for Nigerian artists, Tems has become the Nigerian musician with the most nominations at the upcoming 67th Grammy Awards.

She received nominations in three categories: Best Global Music Album for *Born In The Wild*, Best African Music Performance for *Love Me Jeje*, and Best R&B Song for *Burning*.

These latest nominations bring her Grammy count to eight, reinforcing her status as one of Nigeria’s most acclaimed international music icons.
