I won’t date you if you can’t allow me work – Actress Shaffy Bello
A popular Nollywood actress, Shaffy Bello has stated that she won’t date a man who would not allow her to work.
Speaking on a chat tagged Me, Her and Everything Else podcast with Stephanie Coker, the actress argued that a woman must strive to support her husband at home financially regardless of the fact that men are supposed to be responsible for keeping the home.
She explained that she won’t allow herself to be demoted to a wife who would stay at home even if she got married to a billionaire
Bello said, “I think a man was raised to be a provider. To be the king, usually people go to the king for direction.
“So as a woman, I want to have my own, so that I can be of help when you need me. I can’t date a man who says stop working.
“But to be honest with you, even if you are a billionaire and you put me in a hole, I still have to do something. Because the reason you fell in love with me is because of who I am now. So I am not going to demote myself because of that.”
DAILY POST recalls that Shaffy got married to her estranged husband, Akinrimisi in 1995 but their union hit the rocks in 2020.
Shaffy had earlier in February disclosed that she wants a companion but was not interested in getting married.
Kesiena Tony Adjekpovu, popularly known as Kess, has said that participating in Big Brother Naija can make life harder, offering a candid reflection on the challenges that may come with the reality television experience.
The former Big Brother Naija housemate made the comment in a statement shared on social media, where he suggested that winning or simply taking part in the reality show does not necessarily make life easier after leaving the house.
“Big Brother makes your life harder,” Kess said.
The remark has drawn attention because life after reality television can bring a different set of expectations, particularly as former housemates adjust to increased public attention and the pressure that can accompany visibility.
Kess was a housemate on the seventh season of Big Brother Naija, which aired in 2022. He entered the show as a businessman and was among the contestants who competed for the season’s grand prize.
His time on the programme also placed him in the public eye, giving viewers an opportunity to follow his personality and relationships inside the house.
Kess’s latest comment offers a more reflective view of the reality TV platform, suggesting that the experience does not end when a contestant leaves the house.
However, he did not provide further details in the available post explaining which specific aspects of life after Big Brother he was referring to.
