Kunle Afod slams Osun Government over bad roads, urging urgent repairs while warning of safety risks and insecurity on affected routes

Kunle Afod, a Nollywood actor and filmmaker, said the poor state of the roads had become alarming, adding that he could not ignore the situation any longer.

He also apologised to fellow entertainers Sola Sobowale and Yemi Alade for tagging them in the video, clarifying that his intention was to draw attention to a pressing public issue rather than involve them in controversy.

In his remarks, Kunle Afod stated that he had chosen to speak respectfully rather than use abusive language, citing his upbringing.

However, he expressed frustration that repeated appeals appeared to have been overlooked by the authorities.

The actor alleged that the deteriorating condition of the roads had made certain routes unsafe, claiming that criminal elements had taken advantage of the situation.

He described the roads as abandoned and stressed that communities were being affected by the lack of access and security.

Kunle Afod called on the Osun State Governor and other relevant officials to take immediate action, emphasising that infrastructure development should be treated as a priority.

His comments reflected a broader concern about the intersection of infrastructure decay and public safety, particularly in rural and semi urban areas.

The video adds to ongoing public discourse around road safety in Nigeria, where entertainers and public figures have increasingly used their platforms to highlight infrastructure challenges.

Similar concerns have been raised in the past by other personalities, including comedian Ayo Makun, who has spoken about the need for improved road safety and stronger enforcement measures.

In previous instances, actor Kunle Afolayan has praised government efforts in road rehabilitation projects that support economic activity, while singer Portable has also drawn attention to road conditions in Ogun State following a near accident.
