Itele speaks on fatherhood message as Nollywood actor Ibrahim Yekini urges men to embrace presence, love, and responsibility in raising children

Nollywood actor Ibrahim Yekini, popularly known as Itele, has shared a heartfelt message to fathers, reflecting on the true meaning of fatherhood beyond financial responsibility.

The actor made the remarks while posting photos of himself bonding with his daughters from his current wife, using the moment to highlight the emotional and moral duties of parenting.

In his message, Itele emphasised that fatherhood goes far beyond paying bills, describing it as a combination of presence, protection, guidance, love, and sacrifice.

He expressed respect for men who actively show up for their children in every capacity, whether emotionally, mentally, or physically.

“Fatherhood is more than paying bills. It’s presence, protection, guidance, love, and sacrifice. To every man showing up for his children emotionally, mentally, and physically… respect,” he wrote.

The reflective post comes years after the actor faced public criticism in 2022 over allegations of neglecting children from a previous relationship, a situation that drew significant attention online.

At the time, Itele was accused by his former partner of failing to provide adequate care, although he later publicly apologised and attributed his challenges to health and financial difficulties.

Following the controversy, the actor was later seen reuniting with his children and taking steps to rebuild his relationship with them.
