Nollywood actress Kemi Afolabi has congratulated her colleague Mercy Aigbe on the successful burial and celebration of life of her late mother, Abisola Grace Owodunni.

Mercy Aigbe announced the passing of her mother on Wednesday, September 24, sharing a candlelight tribute on Instagram accompanied by crying emojis and prayers for her mother to rest in peace.

The funeral service began with a service of songs on Thursday, followed by the interment on Friday, November 28. A celebration of life was held on Saturday, honouring the legacy and achievements of the deceased.

Reacting to the events on Instagram, Kemi Afolabi praised Mercy Aigbe and her siblings for organising a memorable service.

She also expressed gratitude to Mercy’s husband, Kazim Adeoti, for his unwavering support, and thanked friends, colleagues, and vendors who contributed to the occasion.

Afolabi lauded the life of Abisola Grace Owodunni, praying for her soul and affirming that she lived a life of grace and left a legacy of joy.

In her post, Afolabi wrote: “Congratulations to you and your siblings on the successful celebration of the life of (Iyen) Omo rere a gbeyin gbogbo wa o. @kazimadeoti, my dearest padi, I salute you for your support… Mummy, may your beautiful soul continue to rest in your Lord’s blossom. You lived a life of Grace and left a legacy of Joy.”

The tribute highlights the strong bond and mutual support within Nollywood, as well as the respect and admiration shared for the late Abisola Grace Owodunni.
