Olaoluwa Segun recounts harrowing jail ordeal after Dayo Amusa petition, describing two days in Panti cell as the worst experience of his life

The content creator had in July 2025 listed Amusa as one of several actors allegedly battling the disease, a claim the actress quickly debunked.

She explained that her 2019 post on HIV was an awareness message to educate her fans and warned Segun that he would be made a scapegoat for spreading falsehoods.

Speaking in a video on Tuesday, Segun revealed he was detained for two days at the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), popularly known as Panti.

He described the period as the worst experience of his life since losing his mother.

“I was locked up in Panti for two days after honouring the police invite over Dayo Amusa’s petition. Immediately I entered the cell, a rugged-looking guy ordered me to prostrate and greet them.

There was no furniture, only four pit latrines with no doors. The stench was unbearable, like sleeping inside a toilet,” he recounted.

Segun said he narrowly avoided harsh treatment from other inmates because one of the cell leaders recognised him as a TikTok follower and offered him protection.

“We were 60 people in the cell. They told me it was the same place Naira Marley once stayed. We all slept on cold tiles,” he added.

Despite his ordeal, the TikToker expressed gratitude to Amusa for eventually forgiving him, which he said spared him from a longer detention.
