She admitted she had pushed herself to dangerous limits, working across two continents while editing her films Mother’s Love and RR. She said she barely slept two hours a day, leaving her body severely overworked.

The Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde Surgery became inevitable when doctors told her the operation could not be delayed. She recalled the fear that overwhelmed her, especially as her husband was away and her children were anxious about her condition.

After the operation, the actress discovered a large scar on her stomach. Doctors later explained that keyhole surgery was impossible because her gallbladder had become too enlarged, requiring a more invasive procedure. She described it as an overwhelming experience and a stark wake-up call.

The Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde Surgery episode prompted her to urge the public to take sudden pains seriously. She advised that anyone experiencing sharp chest or back pains should immediately undergo a CT scan or MRI rather than postponing medical checks.

Omotola said she shared her story not for sympathy, but to encourage people to prioritise their well-being, warning that ignoring warning signs can lead to life-threatening consequences.
