Omowumi Dada EVI: Actress and executive producer shares excitement ahead of the March 27 nationwide cinema release

Actress and executive producer Omowumi Dada has expressed a mix of excitement and nervous anticipation ahead of the nationwide release of the film EVI, scheduled to premiere in cinemas across Nigeria on March 27.

Dada took to Instagram on Tuesday to share images from an exhibitors’ showcase, writing, “Do you know your girl is an Executive Producer? Now you know! I’m very nervous but after the reception at the FilmOne Exhibitors Showcase I can’t be more than proud of the work that has been done by the cast and crew in making this beautiful film.”

The drama, written and directed by Uyoyou Adia, is produced through a collaboration between Judith Audu Productions, Switch Visuals Productions, Signet Rings Productions, and NOI Productions, with support from CCHUB, Africa No Filter, and the Gates Foundation. Distribution in Nigeria will be handled by FilmOne Entertainment.

EVI follows Evi-Oghene Donalds, a talented but proud music star whose life is upended after her record label collapses, forcing her to rebuild her career and personal identity.

The cast features Osas Okonyon in the lead role, alongside Uzor Arukwe, Omowumi Dada, Ibrahim Suleiman, Waje Iruobe, Tomiwa Tegbe, and Femi Branch.

The film blends drama and music, exploring themes of resilience, ambition, and personal growth, while highlighting the importance of humility and collaboration in achieving success.

Dada invited her fans to attend the cinema screenings, emphasising the effort invested by the cast and crew to deliver a high-quality cinematic experience.
