Timilehin Ogunde, granddaughter of the legendary Pa Hubert Ogunde, has reached out to the highflying Nollywood star, Funke Akindele, seeking support for her budding acting career.

Timilehin, who has already made her mark with roles in notable productions such as “North of Jerusalem,” where she played the lead role, and “Co-parenting,” where she took on a significant supporting role, expressed her admiration for Akindele.

Recall that Akindele’s recent success with the blockbuster movie “A Tribe Called Judah” has finally secured her stay in the make-belief industry as a force to reckon with.

In an open letter to Akindele, Timilehin Ogunde wrote, “They said a closed mouth is a closed destiny. Good day Ma @funkeakindele. My name is Timilehin Ogunde, and I’m one of the grandchildren of Chief Hubert Ogunde. I’m an upcoming actress with roles in various projects, including lead and supporting roles in movies like ‘North of Jerusalem’ and ‘Co-parenting.’

“I’ve also featured in Wale Adenuga’s Super Story series, among others. I’ll be so grateful if I could work with you, ma, and I promise not to disappoint you. Eshey ma. Please help me tag @funkeakindele.”

The late Chief Hubert Adedeji Ogunde was a Nigerian actor, playwright, theatre manager, and musician who founded the first contemporary professional theatrical company in Nigeria, the African Music Research Party, in 1945.

Ogunde changed the name to Ogunde Theater Party in 1947 and Ogunde Concert Party in 1950.
