The comedienne made the appeal during a live Instagram session on Saturday, expressing her expectation for an update from the authorities.

She dismissed speculations that the actor received special treatment, explaining that he completed his full prison term. She said no one freed him and that, despite her pain, she had withheld nothing regarding the case.

She added that she was relieved that schools, landlords and the wider public were now aware of his conviction and history.

Before going live, Princess posted a video in which she appeared in a caricatured version of herself to raise awareness about child abuse.

She stressed the importance of protecting children and invited members of the public to report any cases of abuse to her foundation.

Baba Ijesha’s release followed a Court of Appeal judgment overturning his conviction for sexually assaulting a minor, a development first publicised by actor Yomi Fabiyi.

A viral but unverified video later showed the actor sitting in a car, expressing relief and saying he needed rest.

The case dates back to accusations by Princess that he abused her 14 year old foster daughter, with CCTV footage reportedly showing him touching and fondling the minor.

In July 2022, a Lagos court sentenced him to 16 years in prison for indecent treatment of a child and sexual assault.
