Fabiyi, a long-time supporter of Baba Ijesha since his 2021 arrest, wrote: “You are now officially FREE AND OUT. Baba Ijesha is not just back but BETTER.”

He described the original case as a “charade” and claimed the Lagos Appeal Court cleared the actor of allegations.

Baba Ijesha, born Olanrewaju James Omiyinka, was convicted in July 2022 on four of six counts of sexual assault and indecent treatment of a minor and sentenced to five years in prison, following evidence captured on a CCTV camera in the home of the victim’s foster mother, comedian Damilola Adekoya (Princess).

In his post, Fabiyi raised several allegations, including the victim’s age being unverified, selective prosecution, and claims that individuals connected to the case were not held accountable.

He also accused Princess of grooming, re-traumatising the minor, and facilitating recordings used in the prosecution.

Fabiyi emphasised that his human rights organisation does not condone sexual abuse but will continue to combat “selective justice” and “organised crime.”

He insisted the appeal court’s ruling vindicated their stance, although official details remain limited.

The case has remained contentious, with Baba Ijesha’s appeal in 2024 reportedly upholding parts of his conviction while adjusting other counts.
