Nollywood actress Regina Chukwu recounts a traumatic robbery during a movie shoot, revealing her regret over heeding Akin Lewis’ advice

Popular Nollywood actress, Regina Chukwu, has shared a disturbing personal experience involving a robbery attack that occurred during a movie shoot, admitting that following veteran actor Akin Lewis’ advice that night remains one of her biggest regrets.

In a heartfelt video recently uploaded to her YouTube channel, Chukwu recounted the incident, which took place around five years ago while filming at a late-night location.

According to her, filming had wrapped up around 1:00 a.m., after which the producer arranged for her and Akin Lewis to stay at a nearby hotel on Ayilara Street, Lagos, due to Lewis’ early morning journey to Oyo State.

Upon arrival at the hotel, Chukwu immediately became uneasy, noting that the environment was frequented by commercial sex workers. She said she felt strongly about leaving but eventually stayed after Akin Lewis urged her to remain, out of respect for his seniority.

“Listening to his plea was my biggest regret,” she said with visible emotion.

Not long after settling into her room, Chukwu was ambushed by armed robbers, who broke through her door, abducted her, and took her to an unknown location. During the horrifying ordeal, her bank account was drained using her ATM card.

The Yoruba actress revealed that the traumatic event still haunts her, and she hopes her story can serve as a lesson to others in the industry to prioritise personal safety over convenience or respect.

Chukwu’s candid revelation has sparked an outpouring of support from fans and colleagues, many of whom commended her bravery for speaking up about the incident.
