Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has declared himself the best actor in the Nigerian film industry while addressing ongoing criticism over his political views and personal life choices.

The actor made the statement during an appearance on the Honest Bunch podcast, where he spoke about sustained online attacks and public scrutiny in recent times.

Yul Edochie said he has remained resilient despite what he described as a smear campaign targeted at him across social media platforms.

According to him, the criticism he receives is largely linked to his political stance and his decision to take a second wife, both of which have continued to generate public debate.

He insisted that none of the backlash has affected his career, adding that his talent and experience remain unquestionable.

Yul stated that he has worked hard to establish himself in the industry and believes his body of work speaks for itself.

In his words, he said he is still standing strong despite criticism and firmly maintained his position on his professional standing in Nollywood.

The actor further claimed that public perception cannot diminish his contribution to the film industry, stressing that he has “paid his dues” over the years.

Yul Edochie also referenced political backlash, saying he was targeted for his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as for his personal life decisions.
