Regina Daniels Scandal deepens as a hospital denies issuing a viral medical report alleging substance abuse

The Regina Daniels Scandal took a fresh turn on Thursday after Serenity Royale Hospital in Abuja firmly denied authoring a medical report circulating online that claimed the actress was battling serious substance abuse and had allegedly begun a home detox programme.

The viral document, which bore the name of the hospital’s Managing Director, Adekunle Adesina, alleged that Daniels had been diagnosed with a substance use disorder on 24 September 2025.

The hospital dismissed the report as fake, describing it as an attempt to mislead the public.

In a clear statement, the facility said the supposed document did not originate from them. It added that members of the public should disregard the “malicious fabrication”, insisting that Serenity Royale Hospital had not issued any such medical assessment on Nwoko Regina.

The Regina Daniels Scandal has unfolded alongside heightened tensions within the Nwoko family. Earlier in the week, one of Ned Nwoko’s wives, Laila Charani, accused Daniels on Instagram of introducing her to drugs and alcohol six years ago, claiming the influence nearly destroyed her marriage. She also alleged that Nwoko had always rejected substance use and wanted Daniels to seek help.

Charani said her husband’s intervention prevented her from “going down a dark path” and insisted his opposition to drugs and alcohol has been consistent throughout their marriage.

Before the accusations emerged, Charani had been posting images and videos of her family spending peaceful moments with Nwoko, including a recent holiday clip where she wrote that she was “too busy building my peace, life, and family”.

Daniels has since responded online, rejecting any suggestion of instability in her marriage. She wrote that her relationship remained strong in its early years and emphasised her commitment, saying her “ex-man never slept outside for one day” during their seven years together.
