Baba Gebu death has been confirmed, marking a sombre moment for Nollywood. Veteran actor Oyewole Olowomojuore, popularly known as Baba Gebu, passed away on Wednesday evening following a brief illness.

Director and actor Kunle Afod announced the sad news on Instagram, describing Baba Gebu as a “great legend.” “It saddens my heart as I announce the passing of our great legend, a great actor who passed away after a brief illness. BABA GEBU, may your soul rest in peace,” he wrote.

Colleagues and fans of the veteran actor quickly took to social media to express their grief. Actor Yemi Solade prayed, “May GOD forgive his shortcomings, accept and rest his soul in eternal bliss.

Amen.” Actor Akin Olaiya and actress Saje also paid tribute, writing “Rest in peace, Baba” and “May his soul rest in peace,” respectively.

Actor Abiodun Thomas added, “Rest on, Pa Olowomojuore, may God continue to bless all that you left behind,” while actress Shoa Kosoko shared a heartfelt emoji with the message, “Rest in peace, Legend.”
