The actress shared her views in a post on Instagram, where she criticised the habit of some women who use the negative label when discussing men, especially on social media.

Sarah Martins warns women against calling men scum, encouraging those in relationships to appreciate their partners rather than attach insulting labels to men as a group.

The actress argued that a person’s unpleasant experience with one individual should not become a basis for judging an entire gender.

In her message, Martins urged women to stop normalising the use of derogatory terms and challenged those who use the word “scum” to reflect on how they would feel applying such descriptions to their own partners.

“Which one be men are scûuum??” she wrote.

“Dear Queens, pls normalise ‘NOT’ generating the word ‘scûuum’.”

Martins added that women who believe the description applies to men should consider whether they would comfortably use such words for the people closest to them.

“Kindly tag your own man and call him scûuum biko,” she said.
