Shallipopi leaves Dapper Music

Shallipopi confirms split from Dapper Music, setting up his own label, Plutomania Records, shortly after rumours of departure circulated.

Popular Nigerian musician Shallipopi has officially parted ways with the Dapper Music record label, the company that played a key role in his rise to stardom in 2023.

The news comes after weeks of speculation regarding the artist’s future with the label, which appears to have been confirmed by changes to Shallipopi’s social media profiles.

In recent updates to his social media pages, Shallipopi has removed Dapper Music’s name from his bio and unfollowed the label’s boss, fuelling further rumours of a formal split.

These actions suggest an end to the partnership that catapulted Shallipopi to fame and set him up as a notable figure in Nigeria’s music scene.

The artist’s decision to leave Dapper Music follows his recent announcement of his own record label, Plutomania Records.

Shallipopi has already signed two artists, Zerry DL and Tega Boi, as Plutomania’s flagship talents, underscoring his ambition to expand his influence in the industry.

Shallipopi’s departure mirrors that of fellow Nigerian musician Seyi Vibez, who also ended his association with Dapper Music just two months ago.

While the reason for Shallipopi’s separation remains undisclosed, fans speculate that his new label might have motivated the shift.

As Shallipopi moves forward with Plutomania Records, both fans and industry insiders will be watching closely to see how his new label evolves and shapes his musical journey.

This development adds an interesting dimension to Nigeria’s music industry, with more artists now taking control of their careers and establishing their own brands.
