Nigerian singer Timaya has shared his thoughts on marriage, relationships, and fatherhood, revealing why he has chosen to remain unmarried despite his successful music career.

In a recent interview with Naija FM, Timaya candidly expressed that marriage has never appealed to him. “I’ve never been a married guy right from time, but it can change because marriage ‘dey craze’?” he remarked, adding that he values his freedom and dislikes stress.

He also admitted that the thought of being unable to leave a marriage if it became burdensome has made him hesitant to take that step.

Reflecting on his past relationships, Timaya noted that he has always been the one to end them, prioritising his peace of mind. “In all my previous relationships, I was the one who got out because I don’t like stress,” he explained.

The singer also emphasised the importance of open communication in relationships. “If you have a problem with me, let’s talk about it because I don’t like going to bed thinking about things. I go die o,” he said, highlighting his commitment to honesty and transparency.

On fatherhood, Timaya revealed that his children live with their respective mothers, but he remains actively involved in their lives.

Despite the challenges of parenting, he described it as both stressful and rewarding. Timaya spends quality time with his children, who frequently visit him for extended stays.

While he is not in romantic relationships with his children’s mothers, Timaya spoke highly of their co-parenting dynamic.

He described their relationship as respectful and familial, ensuring that their children grow up in a loving environment.

Timaya’s candid revelations offer a glimpse into his personal life, showing a man who values peace, freedom, and meaningful connections above societal expectations.
