Tiwa Savage releases soundtrack for ‘Water and Garri’

Nigeria music diva, Tiwa Savage, has put out the highly-anticipated soundtrack for her newly released movie, ‘Water and Garri’.

The movie, which is now streaming on Prime Video, is directed by Meji Alabi and jointly produced by Everything Savage and Unbound Studios.

The 10-track project boasts of local and global collaborations.

The Nigerian singers featured in the body of work include Olamide, Young John, Reekado Banks, Asa, Ayra Starr, and the highlife duo, the Cavemen.

Richard Bona, the Cameroonian singer, Black Sheriff, the Ghanaian singer, and American singer Zacardi Cortez are the international artistes enlisted in the project.

Songs in the soundtracks are ‘Eastside’, ‘Lost Time’, ‘Commona’, ‘Reason’ and ‘Love O’. Others include ‘Emotions’, ‘I Need You’, ‘Gara’, ‘Kilimanjaro’ and ‘Water and Garri’.

‘Water and Garri’, which was directed by Meji Alabi, is the singer’s debut film in industry and it will start streaming on May 10, 2024.

Water and Garri follows a Nigerian fashion designer who returns to the country after building a successful career in the US.

The movie, which sees the debut of Savage as an actress, tells the story of Aisha, an ambitious fashion designer.

Aisha returned to her native country following the loss of a family member after being away for 10 years in the United States.

She had to learn to live with her scars and confront the guilt she left behind while reconnecting with family, old friends, and her past love.

The project features several movie stars including Jemima Osunde, Mike Afolarin, and Andrew Bunting.
