Tonto Dikeh says her reconciliation with Olakunle Churchill inspired at least 10 women to rebuild relationships and embrace forgiveness

Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has said her reconciliation with former husband Olakunle Churchill has encouraged at least 10 women to rebuild relationships with their partners and pursue healthier co-parenting arrangements.

Dikeh shared the reflection on her social media page on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, while discussing forgiveness, personal healing and the experience of moving forward after difficult relationships.

The actress said her experience with Churchill, with whom she shares a child, prompted numerous women to contact her seeking advice on how to forgive people who had hurt them.

“Ever since my reconciliation with my ex-husband, hundreds of women have reached out asking the same question: How did you learn to forgive?”

According to Dikeh, conversations that followed her own experience have since resulted in at least 10 women reconciling with their partners.

“Today, to the glory of God, at least 10 women have been reconciled, restoring peace, healing hearts, and stepping into healthy co-parenting.”

Dikeh did not provide details about the individual circumstances of the women involved, but presented the development as an encouraging consequence of her decision to embrace reconciliation in her own life.

Her comments also placed forgiveness at the centre of her message.

The actress said forgiveness should not necessarily be understood as an endorsement of the hurt someone has caused.

Rather, she described it as a means of freeing oneself from the weight of past experiences and creating room to move forward.

“Forgiveness is never for the person who hurt you; it is for you. It is the key to moving your life forward.”

Dikeh’s comments mark another public reflection on her relationship with Churchill, following years in which their marriage and subsequent separation attracted considerable attention in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.

The pair were once among Nollywood’s most closely followed celebrity couples before their marriage ended, with their relationship subsequently becoming the subject of public discussions and speculation.

Their more recent reconciliation has represented a different chapter, particularly because the pair share parental responsibilities.

For Dikeh, the significance of that development appears to extend beyond her own family.

She now says her experience has given other women the confidence to consider forgiveness and explore ways of restoring peace in relationships where reconciliation is possible and appropriate.

Her message, however, also comes with an emphasis on healing rather than simply returning to the past.

By linking forgiveness with healthy co-parenting, Dikeh highlighted the practical importance of maintaining peaceful relationships between parents, particularly where children remain at the centre of family responsibilities.
