Yinka Thesien public apology to Linc Edochie stirs emotional reactions online after she admits her past comments came from pain and were not meant for the public
Yinka Thesien public apology has caused a wave of emotional reactions across social media after she issued a heartfelt video message directed at Nollywood actor Linc Edochie.
The apology followed months of public drama and backlash stemming from earlier comments she made about the actor and his ex-wife.
In her recent Instagram post, Thesien appeared emotional and remorseful as she addressed the controversy. She confessed that her previous outbursts came from a place of deep emotional pain and were never meant for public consumption.
Her tone was sincere as she extended an olive branch to Linc, asking for forgiveness and taking full responsibility for her actions.
“Hello everyone, I decided to make this video to apologise to Linc. You know sometimes when we are hurting we come from a position of pain, we say things we should not have said.
I am guilty of it. I am not perfect. I am saying it now, Linc, I am sorry in any way I have hurt you; find it in your heart to forgive me,” she said during the video.
She further clarified that any social media users spreading hateful messages about Linc are not acting on her behalf. She emphasised that she has forgiven him and that she holds no resentment in her heart.
“When we came on social media it was to share a love that was beautiful. Anybody disseminating information or saying mean things about Linc is not acting on my behalf.
I have forgiven him. He is an awesome and kind man. I apologise for everything I said or did to hurt him,” she added.
Thesien had previously made headlines when she alleged in an interview with Uche Maduagwu that her relationship with Linc began after accusing his ex-wife, Amaka, of infidelity. During that interview, she also shared sensitive family matters that many believed crossed a line of decency.
Social media users were quick to react to her apology, many expressing scepticism, while others acknowledged her courage to admit wrongdoing. Some, however, demanded an apology to May, Pete Edochie’s daughter-in-law, who was also caught in the web of accusations.
@floraben84 commented, “You said you prayed for May, how do you pray for someone and come online to accuse her of all sorts of things, it does not add up.”
Another user, @nahjuanatu, wrote, “She needs to apologise to May first, she did so much to her.”
@mummy\_kaima doubted the sincerity of the gesture, saying, “She will delete this tomorrow and continue with the attack.”
One user, @jacintabae779, claimed the apology was prompted by emotional exhaustion, writing, “Heartbreak wants to finish this one, It is how she does not see that attacking May is where her problems started from.”
@carolchintu bluntly said, “This woman is not okay at all.”
Meanwhile, @itsfyne questioned her logic, stating, “It baffles me how people act up towards others and then come up with ‘I have forgiven you.’ Na you act drama, na you dey forgive how?”
Despite the range of reactions, some commended Thesien’s effort to make amends, even if late. Public apologies of this nature remain rare in celebrity circles, making her decision to speak out a noteworthy development.
Whether the apology will lead to reconciliation or continued public backlash remains to be seen. For now, Yinka Thesien public apology is generating intense conversation across Nigeria’s digital space, sparking debates on accountability, forgiveness, and social media boundaries.
