Papaya Ex Salary Allegations surface as influencer is accused of withholding PA wages for three months, sparking online backlash

Nigerian socialite and influencer known as Papaya Ex has been accused of failing to pay the salary of her personal assistant by the assistant’s brother, who made the claims publicly on social media.

Salary Allegations Rock Papaya Ex emerged after the unnamed man alleged that his sister, who works as the influencer’s personal assistant, had gone unpaid for three months despite continuing in her role.

He stated that her monthly salary is ₦120,000.

According to the allegation, tensions reportedly escalated after Papaya Ex lost her phone at a movie premiere earlier in the year, an incident that attracted widespread attention online.

The brother claimed that following the incident, his sister’s salary payments were halted.

In a strongly worded account, he also alleged that when he attempted to intervene on behalf of his sister, Papaya Ex confiscated his mobile phone, despite his pleas and explanation that he works as a mobile videographer.

The claims have sparked fresh scrutiny around the influencer, who has previously courted controversy on social media.

Papaya Ex was widely discussed earlier in the year after she reported the loss of her iPhone 16 Pro Max at a film premiere, later offering a ₦700,000 reward for its recovery.

She has also been involved in several viral moments within the entertainment space, including public criticism over a themed outfit worn to Priscilla Ojo’s wedding, which drew reactions from industry figures such as Toyin Abraham and Iyabo Ojo.

Papaya Ex later apologised publicly, stating that there was no ill intent behind the outfit and that it was meant as a gesture of admiration.

In recent months, she has continued to maintain a strong online presence, including sharing behind-the-scenes experiences from her role in Eniola Ajao’s film Owambe Thieves, marking her transition into acting.

As of the time of filing this report, Papaya Ex has not issued a public response to the latest allegations.
