Femi Odugbemi launches ‘BLACKBox Lagos’ as a cutting-edge creative hub offering mentorship, training, and content consultancy to power Africa’s storytelling industry

‘BLACKBox Lagos’, the brainchild of veteran filmmaker and media executive Femi Odugbemi, has officially launched in Lekki, Lagos, with a mission to supercharge the creative ecosystem in Africa.

The state-of-the-art facility, built to support content design, film and TV production, and storytelling training, is already being hailed as a game-changer for African creatives.

With room for 50 participants, breakout areas, roundtable discussion zones, and hands-on production space, BLACKBox Lagos offers a vibrant, flexible environment to nurture and elevate emerging talent.

“BLACKBox is more than just a space,” said Odugbemi. “It’s an ecosystem for shaping compelling African stories with global impact. Our mission is to bridge the gap between storytelling passion and creative enterprise.”

Elevating African Stories from Concept to Screen

Through BLACKBox Lagos, creators will gain access to intensive workshops, masterclasses, and mentorship programs focused on scriptwriting, directing, production design, and content strategy.

The hub also offers project development consultancy to guide content from concept to market.

The initiative is built on a philosophy of creative excellence and commercial sustainability, equipping both aspiring and established professionals with the tools and insights they need to compete globally.
