Nollywood actress Bukola Arugba claims at least three worshippers were killed and relatives abducted during a church attack in Kwara State, contradicting official reports calling it an “attempted attack.”

Nollywood actress Oluwabukola Awoyemi, popularly known as Bukola Arugba, has raised serious concerns over Tuesday’s attack on Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Isegun, in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, alleging that several worshippers were killed and her relatives abducted.

In a video posted on Instagram on Wednesday, the actress, who hails from Eruku, disputed statements by Kwara State First Lady Olufolake AbdulRazaq, who described the incident as an “attempted attack.”

Bukola insisted that the attack was successful, claiming at least three fatalities and that three to four of her cousins remain in the custody of the attackers.

Footage from the church’s live-streamed programme reportedly showed congregants screaming and attempting to flee as gunmen stormed the premises.

“I read a press release on the Kwara State First Lady’s page regarding the bandit attack in my home, Eruku, which totally contradicts the sad truth. It was a successful attack, not an attempted one,” she said.

Bukola named some of her relatives affected by the attack, including Evangelist Titi Balogun, her mother’s younger sister, and Ebenezer Aina, her cousin’s son, urging authorities to act swiftly to rescue those abducted.

“We don’t even know the number of people abducted, and we and the whole of Nigeria need to be saved,” she said, appealing for immediate government intervention.
