The actress made the emotional disclosure on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, in a video shared on social media, where she explained that she has been undergoing treatment since her initial diagnosis in 2023.

Anijekwu said she was first diagnosed with cancer three years ago and underwent surgery followed by chemotherapy in an effort to control the disease.

According to the actress, doctors initially managed the condition after the treatment, but the cancer later returned, forcing her to resume medical care.

She revealed that recent medical examinations showed that the disease had spread to her bones, increasing the urgency and cost of her treatment.

“I have cancer in 2023. I did my surgery and took chemotherapy, but later it came back again. I’ve been in and out of the hospital,” Anijekwu said.

“The doctor recently told me it has reached my bones, and the treatment is now much more expensive.”

The actress explained that she has been advised to undergo radiation therapy and another surgery as part of her continued treatment plan.

She also disclosed that the financial demands of her medical care have become overwhelming, with treatment costs reaching about N600,000 monthly.

“I need to live. I need to survive. I’m asking Nigerians to please help me. Anyone that can help, please, I need help,” she pleaded.

Anijekwu added that the illness has affected both of her breasts and caused swelling in her hands, making the situation increasingly difficult for her and her family.

“Your one naira, your two naira can add up to something reasonable for me to get the proper treatment for this cancer. I’m begging you, please help me,” she said.

Before her health challenge gained public attention, Anijekwu built a career in Nollywood, appearing in English and Igbo-language productions.

While details of her acting portfolio remain limited in public records, the actress has become known to many Nigerians through her recent public appeal and openness about her health struggle.
