Iyabo Ojo Celebrates a major box office achievement as The Return of Arinzo surpasses ₦351 million in Nigeria and West Africa

Filmmaker and actress Iyabo Ojo has announced that her latest film, The Return of Arinzo, has grossed more than ₦351 million at the box office across Nigeria and West Africa.

Ojo shared the milestone on Instagram on Tuesday, thanking audiences for their support and revealing that the film continues to attract viewers in cinemas weeks after its release.

“Thank you for the incredible love and support. The Return of Arinzo has grossed over ₦351 Million in Nigeria and West Africa, and we’re still counting,” Ojo wrote.

The achievement marks a significant success for the filmmaker, whose directorial debut has continued to gain momentum since premiering in Lagos on March 29 ahead of its nationwide cinema release on April 3.

Beyond its strong domestic performance, the film has expanded its reach internationally.

Ojo disclosed that The Return of Arinzo is now showing at Century Cinemax in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, while a United States tour is set to begin this month with scheduled screenings in Atlanta, Dallas and Houston.

Produced under Fespris Production and distributed by FilmOne Entertainment, the film has emerged as one of the notable Nollywood releases of 2026, reflecting growing audience interest in locally produced stories.

The Return of Arinzo features a star-studded cast including Funke Akindele, Mercy Aigbe, Bimbo Akintola, Yinka Quadri, Uzor Arukwe, Adjetey Anang, Juma Jux and Enioluwa Adeoluwa.

The film tells the story of Arinzo, a woman presumed dead whose unexpected return exposes long-hidden family secrets and political rivalries.

The unfolding drama explores themes of identity, betrayal and revenge, elements that have resonated strongly with cinema audiences.
