The actress came under scrutiny following claims that a close associate, identified as “Motun,” allegedly operated a fan-based ajo savings arrangement in which participants contributed money with promises of returns and a possible meet-up with the actress.

The situation escalated online after several contributors accused the organiser of failing to repay funds and allegedly blocking participants who raised concerns, sparking widespread debate and criticism across social media platforms.

In response, Iyabo Ojo addressed the allegations during a live Instagram session, firmly distancing herself from the scheme and insisting she had no official or financial connection to the individual involved.

The actress clarified that while she appreciates her fan base, no fan has ever been authorised to act on her behalf in any formal or financial capacity.

She described the claims linking her to the arrangement as misleading and inaccurate.

She further warned the associate at the centre of the controversy to stop using her name for promotional purposes and demanded the return of a premiere ticket previously issued to her.

The Iyabo Ojo scam allegations have continued to generate mixed reactions online, with supporters defending the actress while others call for clearer boundaries between celebrities and fan-led initiatives.
