In a statement posted on the official Facebook page of Due Process Advocates (DPA), the law firm explained that the toxic atmosphere generated by fans had created serious ethical and operational concerns.

“The hostile environment fostered by certain individuals within the ‘May Nation’ group has made it untenable for us to continue effective representation,” DPA stated.

Ugwuonye noted that although the firm condemns Yul Edochie’s controversial actions, including his marriage to a second wife, the continuous trolling and abuse from May’s fans have made it impossible to proceed professionally.

“This does not diminish May’s right to justice,” the statement continued. “We remain committed to her cause and will cooperate fully in transitioning to a new legal team.”

DPA also revealed its plans to take legal action against a prominent online figure known as “Judy Obasiyul Autisn,” accused of spearheading digital attacks against the law firm.

Despite the withdrawal, Ugwuonye reaffirmed his commitment to May’s case, stating, “Protecting the best interest of our client remains our obligation, even after withdrawal.”
