The exchange began after Mofe Duncan shared a post in honour of Alexx Ekubo, who died last month following a battle with cancer.

In the comments section, a social media user dismissed the public expressions of sympathy, suggesting that none of the actor’s colleagues would be willing to die in his place despite their displays of affection.

The remark drew a swift response from Mofe Duncan, who described the comment as foolish and criticised the user’s conduct.

The actor urged the commenter not to publicly display what he viewed as a lack of judgement.

Mofe Duncan Slams Offensive Troll became a talking point after the actor shared a screenshot of the exchange on Instagram.

In a strongly worded caption, Mofe Duncan described the commenter as “persona non grata” and expressed frustration over what he considered insensitive behaviour online.

The actor said such comments reflected the consequences of giving access to social media platforms to individuals who lacked proper values and respect for others.

The incident comes as friends, family and colleagues continue to mourn Alexx Ekubo, whose death was announced in May.

The actor was 40 years old.

In a statement issued at the time, Alexx Ekubo’s family said the actor died at Evercare Hospital after a brief but courageous battle with advanced metastatic kidney cancer.

His passing prompted an outpouring of tributes from across Nollywood, with many colleagues sharing memories of his life, career and impact on the industry.

The powerful response highlighted the esteem in which the actor was held by peers and fans alike.

The latest controversy also arrives during a difficult period for Mofe Duncan.

In March, the actor announced the death of his father, Josbert Thomas Kofi Duncan.

Sharing the news with followers, Mofe Duncan said his heart was broken by the loss but found comfort in believing that his father was watching over him.

The actor later thanked supporters for their messages, calls and condolences, describing the overwhelming show of support as deeply comforting.
