The actress’s comments followed a recent exchange with her father. In a now-deleted video shared on Instagram, Gold recounted how she sent him a “huge” sum of money for the Easter celebration, and was disappointed by his response.

Expressing her feelings of being unappreciated, Gold described her usual practice of sending money to her father: “Normally, I always send money to my father. I do send money at night so that he will see the amount I have sent when he wakes up in the morning, because I love surprises.”

She continued, “Whenever my father wakes up in the morning and sees the amount I have given to him, he will pray for me. And trust me, I enjoy the prayers, because it gingers me to want to do more.”

However, on Easter day, Gold’s father sent her a message in the morning, saying, “Baby how far na? Do Easter for you papa na”. Gold said she pretended not to see the message. Later, at 2 am, she sent him a substantial amount of money, “10 times the ones I usually sent.”

Gold explained her expectations: “You know that kind of feeling of giving your father big money and you are expecting to wake up and see some kind of prayers that will bubble you.”

However, her hopes were dashed when she checked her phone the next morning. “I woke up only to check my phone and see ‘thanks’. No prayers. Nothing.”

Gold revealed that when she called her father to confront him about his lack of a more enthusiastic response, “He said I prayed for you in my heart.”
