Nollywood actress Ruby Ojiakor responds to criticism over her wedding venue choice, explaining she married in her husband’s church as “he is the head of the family,” sparking further debate on Nigerian marriage traditions

Ruby Ojiakor, the popular Nollywood actress, has addressed the criticism surrounding the choice of venue for her recent wedding ceremony.

The actress tied the knot in a white wedding held at St. Philips Anglican Church, the place of worship attended by her husband. However, this decision sparked significant backlash online, with several social media users questioning why the ceremony wasn’t held in her own church.

Responding to the comments via her Instagram page, Ruby urged critics to respect her personal choices and put an end to the online “dragging.”

She explained, “I got married in my husband’s church because he married me in full. He is the head of the family. Please, when it’s your turn, do what suits you. God bless you all, and stop dragging me unnecessarily.”
