The Nollywood actress took to her Instagram page to address the criticism, highlighting the ongoing trend of women shaming other women for not being married.

Martins had been working on a film set when she stumbled upon a harsh comment from a female follower. The troll wrote, “Old woman, go and marry, mad girl,” in what appeared to be a crude jab at the actress’s single status.

Rather than ignoring the remark, the actress chose to respond publicly, revealing the message alongside a powerful statement.

In her reaction, Martins expressed dismay that women still shame each other based on marital expectations. She said the insult came while she was earning her living honestly, and rather than retaliating with equal venom, she visited the commenter’s page out of curiosity before eventually blocking her.

“I dey busy on set dey hustle my daily 2k and this comment dropped,” Martins wrote. “I read it and nodded my head. I decided to take a stroll on her page before blocking her, only to see ikwikwi in human form.”

Her words struck a chord with many of her followers, as she ended her post with a plea for change. “Women, we can do better,” she added, calling for a culture of support rather than public humiliation.

The incident highlights a recurring issue in online spaces, where celebrities and public figures are often subjected to personal attacks. Martins’s decision to address the troll with confidence and poise has earned praise from fans and fellow actors alike.
