Sotayo Gaga has opened up about a painful scam experience after fraudsters allegedly deceived her with emotional stories

Nollywood actress and entrepreneur Tayo Sobola, popularly known as Sotayo Gaga, has emotionally recounted how she allegedly fell victim to scammers who deceived her with fabricated stories and requests for financial assistance.

The actress shared the distressing experience in an emotional video posted online, revealing that the incident involved an undisclosed amount of money.

According to Tayo Sobola, some of the individuals approached her while pretending to be colleagues within the entertainment industry.

The actress explained that one caller claimed to be struggling to pay a child’s school fees, while another allegedly used the identity of a colleague to seek urgent financial help.

She further disclosed that another person contacted her through WhatsApp, claiming to be facing marital problems caused by financial hardship.

Tayo Sobola said she was deeply moved by the stories and even sold some of her belongings to assist the supposed victims before discovering that she had been deceived.

Visibly heartbroken in the video, the actress expressed anger and frustration towards the alleged fraudsters, alternating between English and Yoruba while reacting to the incident.

The revelation sparked widespread reactions online, with several social media users sympathising with the actress and describing her as a generous and compassionate person.

Some commenters suggested that her kindness may have made her vulnerable to manipulation, while others lamented the increasing rate of scams and impersonation on social media platforms.
