Popular Nigerian singer Spyro has alleged that he is being blackmailed over an alleged sex tape. Taking to his Instagram story on Tuesday, the Afrobeats star claimed that certain individuals, whom he described as religious figures, were using threats and emotional manipulation to coerce him.

Spyro accused these unnamed figures of exploiting their positions to mask deceitful actions. “Don’t be deceived, the biggest scams and liars are the ones at the top of religious ladders.

They perpetrate evil and quote holy books to support their wrongs,” he wrote.

The singer revealed that the blackmail attempt followed his decision to call out an individual online for misconduct. According to him, the person swiftly turned to religious justifications after being confronted.

“I once called out someone for wrongdoing me, and the next day, the person started confessing scriptures. In the same vein, sending threat messages about releasing my sex tape and how they have a girl claiming she’s pregnant for me,” he stated.

Spyro’s claims have sparked reactions among fans, with many expressing concern over the growing trend of blackmail in the entertainment industry.
