Sunshine Rosman Eyes Lead Roles in Indian Films

Sunshine Rosman Indian films ambition is a lead role abroad, the actress says, arguing her looks fit Spanish and Indian parts as well as Nollywood

Nollywood actress Sunshine Rosman said she wants a lead role in an Indian or Spanish film, citing her features and appearance as the reason those industries appeal to her.

The remark was made while she discussed the international work she hopes to chase beyond Nigerian screens, and it circulated widely on Tuesday, 15 September 2026.

“I want to be a lead in an Indian or Spanish movie because of my features and what I look like,” Sunshine Rosman said. In a longer version of the same thought on GlassHouse with AY, she added that God had put her in a position to play multiple characters and that she could play “an Indian character very comfortably” and “a Spanish girl really easily.”

Sunshine Rosman, also known as Shine Rosman, is a Nigerian-Canadian actress and model. She has described her mother as Igbo and her late father as Canadian.

She debuted in 2015 as Amara in Lunch Time Heroes with Omoni Oboli, later appeared as Michelle in My Siblings and I, and drew notice as Amanda Sparkles in Kemi Adetiba’s 2024 Netflix series To Kill a Monkey. Other credits include Pretty Thief, Perfect Assistant and When Love Strikes.

Ambition of this kind is now common in Nollywood. Streaming has sent Nigerian faces abroad, but a lead in Bollywood or Spanish-language cinema still demands language, time and a producer willing to cast against type.

Sunshine Rosman has said a serious Indian part might take a year or two of immersion. That is a plan, not a booking.

Online reaction split in the usual way. One commenter, @Oscar, said she would also fit a Niger Delta story about Ken Saro-Wiwa. @Jesse praise wrote that she was “living in delululand rent free.” @AUTHENTIC FACTOR doubted Bollywood pay would match Nollywood. Casting on the basis of mixed features can open doors. It can also trap an actor in the same conversation about looks rather than craft.

The Sunshine Rosman Indian films wish is therefore both a career pitch and a reminder of how biracial Nigerian performers are still asked to explain where they “fit.”

A lead role would settle the argument better than another interview. Until that call comes, the line stands as ambition spoken out loud.
