Celebrity dancer Kaffy Shafau has expressed admiration for actress Funke Akindele and media personality Morayo Afolabi-Brown, describing them as “remarkable women” who have made significant impacts in their fields.

Shafau shared her thoughts after attending a conversation between the two women at the Wema Bank International Women’s Day event.

She praised Funke Akindele for her boldness and commitment to excellence, highlighting her role in reshaping African storytelling and cinema distribution.

“Funke is someone I hold with deep respect. Over the years, I have watched her continue to push boundaries in an industry that was once heavily male-dominated. Through her work, her boldness, and her unwavering commitment to her craft, she has helped reshape the landscape of African storytelling and cinema distribution. She has proven time and time again that excellence has no ceiling — breaking records, raising standards, and reminding the industry that authenticity and audacity can coexist,” Shafau wrote.

Shafau also commended Morayo Brown for her strength, intelligence, and ability to create meaningful conversations that influence public discourse.

“Morayo Brown, on the other hand, has remained a strong and steady voice in media and journalism. She has held her ground with grace and intelligence, creating space for meaningful conversations and perspectives that continue to shape public discourse,” she added.

The dancer emphasised the importance of celebrating women not just for achievements, but also for the courage to persevere amid challenges.
