In a recent interview, the award-winning star said she is in no rush to tie the knot, emphasizing that marriage should only happen with the right person.

“Marriage is a sacred covenant that should be solemnized in God’s presence and witnessed by loved ones,” Akintola shared. Born to a mother from Edo State and a father from Oyo State, the actress said she once met a man she believed was her life partner, but he sadly passed away.

“I haven’t found the person I would spend the rest of my life with. I did find it. But he died. And I haven’t found it since then,” she revealed.

The actress stressed that marriage is important but not the ultimate definition of a woman’s worth. For her, it is about truthfulness — both to herself and to God.

“I don’t think I would want to marry anyone that I won’t be able to stay with forever. If I believe I can, I would do it, even if I’m 78,” she said.

Akintola also pointed out that as people grow older, companionship becomes more significant. With children eventually moving on with their lives, she said, “There’s something called loneliness, so you need a companion for the later years.”
