Abiodun Ayoyinka made the clarification during a recent interview with media personality Daddy Freeze, addressing widespread speculation triggered by a previous viral conversation in which he spoke about his financial difficulties despite decades in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

Abiodun Ayoyinka Fake Car Claim controversy began after comments from Wale Adenuga, producer and creator of Papa Ajasco and Company, who stated that the actor had received various forms of support during his time on the show, including access to vehicles such as a Mercedes Benz.

The debate intensified further when media personality Lucky Udu, whose earlier interview brought Ayoyinka’s situation into public focus, suggested that the actor had failed to fully acknowledge assistance he received following the viral attentiono.

Udu also claimed that efforts to organise further support did not materialise as expected.

In response, Abiodun Ayoyinka dismissed allegations that he had been gifted a car or received 25,000 dollars, describing the claims as false and misleading.

“I am still trekking and jumping the bus. I did not receive any car,” Ayoyinka said, adding that what he received after the viral interview were public donations, not luxury gifts.

The actor explained that contributions from members of the public reportedly amounted to nearly six million naira in total, with donations ranging from small sums to larger individual contributions.

Abiodun Ayoyinka also clarified that while he once owned an old Mercedes 200 during his acting career, the vehicle is no longer in his possession. He stressed that misinformation surrounding his financial support needed to be corrected to reflect reality.

Despite the controversy, Ayoyinka acknowledged that the viral interview helped renew public attention on his situation, describing it as a turning point that gave him what he called a “new life and a new beginning”.

He further noted that attempts to maintain communication with Lucky Udu after the interview, including plans for a follow-up meeting in Abuja, were unsuccessful.
