While some praised the numbers as evidence of strong digital influence in Nollywood distribution, others questioned their authenticity, arguing that the figures appeared unusually high.

The debate escalated when a critic compared Montana’s performance with Toyin Abraham’s film Imisi, claiming that Abraham, despite her large fanbase, only recorded around three million views within a week.

The critic further suggested that Montana’s reported figures were unlikely to be organic.

In response, Toyin Abraham dismissed the comparison and urged the critic to leave her out of the conversation, stressing that Uche Montana should be allowed to enjoy her moment.

“Pls, leave me out of this and let her enjoy her moment and time,” she wrote, adding a Yoruba expression that loosely conveyed frustration at unnecessary interference.
