UK Guys Don’t Have Money — Toke Makinwa

Media personality and Nollywood actress, Toke Makinwa, has said that Nigerian men in the UK are not as rich as their Lagos counterparts.

She made the revelation while hosting UK-based podcaster, Madame Joyce, on the latest episode of her show, ‘Toke Moments’ titled, ‘Nightlife in London Vs Lagos’.

Toke Makinwa said: “UK guys don’t just have the money and UK guys are a bit weird in the sense that when they look at Nigerian guys and how they are balling, I don’t think it encourages or inspires them. I think they think it’s wasteful.

From what I’ve seen with the Lagos boys, they really try to outdo each other like everything is quite competitive with them.”

Toke Makinwa, who described herself as razz, however, said she wouldn’t date a white man.

“I think I’m too razz for a white man, that’s the issue. My sister is married to a white guy. I love my brother-in-law, but even as a sister-in-law, I get tired of speaking English. Some days, I want to break it down to broken. I’m just not this sophisticated,” she said on the show.

While speaking about her crashed marriage and what led to it, Toke Makinwa said she cannot be shamed over a guy who cheated on her.

“My marriage was over. I was at work the next day. I cannot bear a man’s shame for him. He’s the one who cheated. Let him carry the cross,” she stated.
