Nollywood mourns as veteran actor Asa Koko passes away after battling an undisclosed illness, as confirmed by colleague Kunle Afod

The Nigerian film industry has lost one of its veteran actors, Asa Koko, who passed away after a prolonged battle with an undisclosed illness.

His death was confirmed on Thursday by fellow actor Kunle Afod, who announced the sad news on Instagram.

Afod shared a video from a recent visit to Asa Koko’s home, where the ailing actor detailed his health struggles. In the footage, the deceased was seen with a swollen leg, recounting his hospitalisation and treatment challenges.

“I was hospitalised at Island. I was battling with injuries on my legs. The state governor even visited me during the treatment,” Asa Koko revealed.

The actor’s passing has left a void in Nollywood, with colleagues and fans mourning his loss. Tributes continue to pour in for the late entertainer, who made a significant impact in the industry.
