Yomi Fabiyi claims he received a ‘disturbing’ Mohbad video, alleges threats, and urges President Tinubu to intervene in the late singer’s case

Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has ignited a fresh wave of controversy after alleging he is in possession of a video purportedly shedding light on what happened to the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

Fabiyi, speaking in a video shared across social media, claimed that the footage was sent to him as part of an extortion attempt. According to him, unnamed individuals are attempting to intimidate him using the alleged clip.

The actor disclosed that he had previously written to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in May 2025, asserting in that letter that Mohbad was “murdered” and urging the presidency to intervene in what has become one of Nigeria’s most discussed deaths in recent years.

He further alleged that the late singer’s case file had been reviewed by the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja, where investigators reportedly identified key suspects.

Despite this, Fabiyi claims there is now a coordinated plan to suppress the case.

“Now they want to cover it up,” he said in the video.

He also accused some of the alleged suspects of trying to silence him. “They are even asking the same suspects to write a petition against me over illegal arrests. This suspect wants to silence me because they want to use the video against you.”

The actor did not release the video nor provide further details about its content, but his claims have sparked renewed public debate over the slow pace of the investigation and the persistent calls for justice for Mohbad.
