Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has sparked widespread reaction after speaking openly about the breakdown of his marriage to his estranged wife, May Edochie, during an appearance on The Honest Bunch Podcast.

During the interview, Edochie was asked whether his ex-wife had done anything that led to the end of their marriage, prompting a brief laugh before he responded that he did not mind being seen as the “villain” in the situation.

When asked directly if he was comfortable with that perception, he replied, “I don’t mind,” a statement that has since triggered debate across social media platforms.

The actor was also questioned about whether he informed May Edochie of his decision to marry his current wife, Judy Austin, but declined to go into detail, stating that he wished his former partner well and wanted her to prosper.

He emphasised that May Edochie remains the mother of his children and acknowledged that events unfolded during their marriage, adding that he preferred not to discuss the matter further in public.

In the interview teaser, Edochie revealed he was 22 when he got married and said he met his former wife while they were writing the GCE examination, advising that men should set boundaries in relationships.
