“Men, stop tolerating nonsense in the name of marriage or a relationship,” Yul Edochie wrote, adding that a man’s respect should remain “non-negotiable”.

The comments have triggered mixed reactions online, with some supporting the call for self-respect while others criticised the tone as overly blunt.

The statement forms part of a pattern of outspoken views from Yul Edochie on relationships and social norms.

In recent days, he advised African men against kneeling during marriage proposals, describing the practice as unnecessary and urging them to maintain confidence.

Yul Edochie has also previously shared guidance on attracting partners, encouraging men to rely on confidence rather than financial status, and to express their feelings directly.

In another intervention, the actor condemned violence in relationships, stressing that no circumstance justifies harming a partner, even in cases of infidelity.

He has also maintained that marriage remains valuable despite rising divorce rates, often attributing separations to undisclosed personal issues.

Beyond relationships, Yul Edochie has used his platform to offer broader lifestyle advice, including encouraging self-worth and individuality.
