Oluyemi Lawrence Adeyemi, a renowned figure in Nigeria’s film industry, Nollywood, has passed away. Better known by his on-screen character name ‘Suara’, Adeyemi’s death was announced by his family in an Instagram post on Monday, September 25. The cause of his death, however, remains undisclosed.

Adeyemi, a seasoned veteran in Nollywood, garnered fame for his significant role in the ‘Oh Father, Oh Daughter’ series of the popular ‘Super Story’ by Wale Adenuga Productions. His impactful performance earned him the affectionate nickname ‘Baba Suara’ among his younger colleagues in the industry.

Adeyemi’s memorable roles have etched an indelible mark in the annals of Nollywood. His portrayal of a polygamist in ‘Oh Father! Oh Daughter!’, a segment of the Super Story series, is particularly noteworthy. The series saw Adeyemi’s character entangled in a domestic drama with two wives, played by popular actresses Bukky Wright and Sola Shobowale.

Beyond Super Story, Adeyemi also showcased his acting prowess in other films, including ‘Lekki Wives’, demonstrating his versatility and dedication to his craft.

Upon the announcement of his passing, his colleague, Husseini Shaibu, confirmed the news, reminiscing on Adeyemi’s remarkable career and expressing his condolences. His son, Adedotun Adeyemi, in a statement, expressed that the family is “consoled because we know that he has gone to rest.” The family has requested privacy during this time of grief and will communicate further details about the burial in due course.
