On Monday, Head of House Jason Jae relayed Big Brother’s decision, announcing that Kola would no longer be allowed to speak and must instead communicate through a writing pad until further notice.

The punishment followed Kola’s decision to reveal details of a private red telephone conversation, despite explicit warnings that such information must not be shared with fellow housemates.

The confidential call involved Agent X offering Kola a luxury manicure and pedicure session worth ₦1 million — with the amount to be deducted from the grand prize. Kola declined the offer but later discussed the conversation, violating the rule.

Big Brother’s voice delivered the verdict in his signature stern tone:

“Kola, you discussed part of your conversation on the red telephone despite being warned that you weren’t to discuss it with any of your fellow housemates during the course of your stay in Big Brother’s house. As punishment, you’re forbidden from speaking till further notice.”

The statement added that during the punishment period, Kola must only communicate by writing on a pad provided by Big Brother. Housemates are required to read his written words aloud before responding.

The unusual penalty has already shifted dynamics in the house, with viewers debating whether Kola’s silence could work against him in alliances and tasks.
