Chigozie Nwoye Reveals Sam Loco had no house at his death, saying Edo State government built a home for the late Nollywood actor

Actor Chigozie Nwoye has disclosed that veteran Nollywood actor Sam Loco Efe did not own a house at the time of his death, saying the government of Edo State provided a home for him.

Nwoye made the revelation in an interview with NetNollyFilm, recalling his attendance at Sam Loco’s burial in Benin City.

“He had no house of his own. It was the government of Edo State under Oshiomole that built a house for Sam Loco,” he said.

Sam Loco, a stage and film actor with a career spanning more than three decades, was widely known for his comic roles in Nollywood classics such as Ukwa, Tom and Jerry, and Owo Blow.

He died on 7 August 2011 at the age of 65. Sam Loco was found in a hotel room in Owerri while editing a film.

Hotel staff discovered his passing after he failed to respond to calls the following morning.

The actor’s contributions to Nollywood, particularly in comedy, remain celebrated across the industry and among fans, even years after his death.
