Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has condemned the recent abduction of schoolchildren in Oyo State, calling on the government to strengthen security measures and ensure the safe return of the victims.

Akindele expressed her concerns in a post on X, formerly Twitter, where she described the incident as heartbreaking and urged authorities to do more to protect children in schools across the country.

The award-winning actress said children deserve to feel safe in their learning environments, while parents should be able to send their children to school without fear.

“DAYS ARE COUNTING!!! This is so heartbreaking. Our children deserve to feel safe in school, and parents deserve peace of mind. The government needs to do more to protect our children and secure our schools. No family should have to live with this kind of fear,” Akindele wrote.

The filmmaker also extended her thoughts and prayers to the affected families, expressing hope that the abducted children would return home safely.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the affected families. May these children return home safely. Amen,” she added.

Funke Akindele reaction has attracted attention on social media, with many Nigerians echoing her concerns over the safety of schoolchildren and the need for stronger security measures in educational institutions.
