The Convener, Inside Nollywood Muoma Obinna has called on the Federal Government to make favourable policies for the entertainment industry.

Obinna said this, yesterday in Abuja, ahead of the 2024 Inside Nollywood International Film Festival & Awards,to hold from the 15th to 17th February, at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Center, Abuja.

He said that the entertainment industry will continue to struggle if there is no proper inclusiveness.

” Nollywood is an independent group which since inception has been appealing to the government to make favourable policies because as of today we are the highest employer of labour.

The issues of funding have been affecting the industry. Though we have loan form from Bank of Industry but the polices attached to it makes it very difficult for us to access. At times the people they are giving those loans are not even main industry practitioners.

I think if the government wants to set things right, they should come in and have a stakeholders meeting with we the practitioners, let us identify ourselves and it will make the business easier.

We have been trying independently as the highest employer of labour, without proper inclusiveness it will continue to be frustrating .”

On his part, Inside Nollywood Ambassador, Nonso Diobi said Nollywood is ready for international collaboration to push the entertainment industry forward.

According to Diobi, the entertainment industry has employed a lot of people and more opportunities would be opened for if the government can collaborate with it.
